Our Schools Are at a Crossroads

Education in our district—and across the nation—is at a pivotal moment. Significant developments are on the horizon, and the decisions made now will shape the future for our students, teachers, and community now and for generations to come.

School choice or parental choice in their child's education is expected to pass this legislative session. President Trump has pledged to significantly reform or eliminate the Department of Education, which could reshape federal education policies. Closer to home, the State Board of Education has approved the Blue Bonnet curriculum, introducing a new approach to teaching across Texas. Additionally, PISD will soon welcome a new Superintendent with the support of our current Superintendent.

Decisive leadership and strategic problem-solving are essential to navigating this new landscape. Our school board must be prepared to adapt, ensuring that students continue to receive a high-quality education while supporting our teachers and preserving the values that make our community strong.

This campaign is about ensuring PISD continues performing at the standard of excellence our community has come to expect and is prepared for the road ahead—putting students first, addressing change with wisdom, governing with integrity, and raising the bar even higher for our children's education. With the right leadership, we can navigate this new landscape effectively and continue to foster academic excellence for every student in our district.
